How Journey Shares works
Buy shares in the people you believe in, with play money. Get in early, ride their highs and lows, and see who calls it best.
What is Journey Shares?
Journey Shares is a free stock-market game where you buy and sell play-money shares in public figures such as streamers, athletes, musicians, politicians and creators. If you think someone is on the rise, you can buy in early and sell later if their price goes up.
Is it real money?
No. Everything uses play money with no cash value. New players get $10,000 in play money to start. It can't be bought, sold or withdrawn.
How are share prices set?
Every listed person has 200,000 shares. Half trade on a public pool priced by a bonding curve: each purchase raises the price and each sale lowers it, so the price always reflects supply and demand and there's always a quote, even for new listings.
What happens to the other 100,000 shares?
They're held in escrow for the person listed. If that person verifies their accounts and claims their profile, they receive the shares, locked for a period, and can then sell a limited amount each day.
Can I trade options on people?
Yes. Once enough shares have traded, a profile gets calls and puts. A call pays $1 in play money per contract if the person's 24-hour average share price at expiry is above the strike; a put pays if it's at or below. Option prices move with demand, like prediction-market odds.
What else can I do?
Set price alerts, place price-point orders (buy the dip, take profit or stop loss), follow people on a watchlist, vouch for people and comment on their profiles, share profiles, and compete on the leaderboard with notifications when you gain or lose a top spot.
Who can be listed?
Only public figures aged 18 or older. Anyone can suggest a listing, and an admin reviews each one before it goes live.
I'm listed. Can I claim or remove my profile?
Yes. Open your profile and use 'Is this you?' to verify one of your linked accounts, then claim the profile or ask for it to be delisted. You can also use the privacy request form without an account.
Is Journey Shares affiliated with the people listed?
No, unless a profile is marked as claimed. Listings are created from public information and don't imply endorsement.
Is there an app?
Journey Shares runs in the browser and can be installed on Android and other phones as an app from Chrome's menu (Install app). It's free.
