Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Journey Shares (“we”, “us”) about your use of Journey Shares (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. One account per person.

2. Play money, not real money

• All balances, shares, options, prices and winnings are play money with no cash value.
• Play money can't be purchased, sold, transferred, withdrawn, redeemed or exchanged for money, goods or services, on or off the Service. Any attempt to do so breaks these terms.
• Nothing on the Service is a security, a financial product, investment advice, or gambling. Prices come from a formula and user activity and don't reflect any real-world value of a person.
• We may adjust, reset or remove balances and positions to fix errors, abuse or technical problems, or when we change or end the Service.

2a. Options, orders and alerts

• Options on the Service are play-money contracts that pay 1 play dollar each if their side wins: a call wins if the profile's average share price over the 24 hours before expiry is above the strike, a put wins otherwise. Prices are set by an automated market maker and move with demand.
• Price-point orders run automatically against the pool when the price reaches your trigger and may fill partly, late, or not at all. Stop-loss orders sell at the market price once triggered. Alerts and notifications are best-effort and may be delayed or missed.
• We may void, adjust or settle positions differently where trading was manipulative or a technical error occurred.

3. Listings of people

• Only list public figures: people known to the public through their work, media presence or online following. Never list private individuals or anyone under 18.
• Links you add must genuinely belong to the person listed. Don't impersonate anyone or create misleading listings.
• A listed person isn't affiliated with or endorsing the Service unless their profile is marked as claimed.
• Listed people can claim, correct or remove their profile. We review listings and may reject or remove any of them at any time.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of comments and other content you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display and distribute it on the Service for as long as it's there. You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, private information about others, spam, or content you don't have the right to share. Vouches must be honest.

5. Things you must not do

• Manipulate prices, including coordinated trading, wash trading, or trading shares to move the price that settles options you hold.
• Use multiple accounts, bots, scrapers or automated trading, or interfere with the Service or its security.
• Harass, threaten or dox anyone, including the people listed.
• Break any law, or help anyone else break these terms.

6. Moderation and enforcement

We may review, hide or remove content, reject or remove listings, cancel trades or positions that result from errors or abuse, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We aren't obliged to monitor the Service but may do so.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service, its design and software, and the Journey Shares name and logo belong to Journey Shares. You may use the Service only as these terms allow. See Legal for copyright complaints.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that data won't be lost.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Journey Shares won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Journey Shares against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your listings, or your breach of these terms.

11. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Your data. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 2, 4, 7–12 survive.

12. General

If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at privacy@journeyshares.app so we can try to resolve it informally. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. We may update these terms; if a change is significant we'll ask you to accept the new version in the app. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept it.
